چکیده

Abstract Background Obesity-related oxidation stress plays a key role in obesity complications; however, its relation to thyroid status is an area for further research. The study aimed assess function obese children and oxidative deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage. Results Fifty 40 normal weight were included . Anthropometric measurement, lipid profile, function, anti-thyroglobulin antibody, peroxidase 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine serum level as marker of DNA damage measured. Thirty-six percent with have subclinical hypothyroidism. Central but not profile was significantly associated Waist circumference > 97th centile increases the risk hypothyroidism (odd ratio 10.82; confidence interval 95% 2.75–42.409; p -value<0.001). Conclusion represents factor children. Oxidation did show significant association

Hyperprolactinemia in Children with Subclinical Hypothyroidism

Prevalence of hyperprolactinemia in children with subclinical hypothyroidism (ScH) is not known. This study aimed to determine the occurrence and predictors of hyperprolactinemia in euthyroid children and in children with ScH and overt primary hypothyroidism (OPH). Serum prolactin levels were estimated in consecutive children <18 years of age undergoing thyroid function evaluation and diagnosed...

Hyperprolactinemia in association with subclinical hypothyroidism

Background: Hyperprolactinemia is the most common endocrine disorder in hypothalamic-pituitary axis and has been reported in variable levels in patients with overt primary hypothyroidism. We decided to determine the prevalence of hyperprolactinemia and clinical related symptoms in subclinical hypothyroidism patients. Methods: In this cross sectional study, prolactin levels of 481 subclinical hy...

Neurocognitive Functions in Children and Adolescents with Subclinical Hypothyroidism

OBJECTIVE Hypothyroidism is a metabolic condition that can lead to cognitive and behavioral deficits in children and adolescents. However, there is less evidence about subclinical hypothyroidism (SH) as a risk factor for neuropsychological disorders in childhood. The aim of this study was to evaluate cognitive functions like active/passive attention, maintaining attention, and response inhibiti...
